UNIDIRECTIONAL ROD TRANSDUCERS WITH WEDGE-SHAPED HEADS
The principle of construction is considered and the results of experimental researches of screenless unidirectional transducers, built on the basis of a piezo-rod and two identical wedge-shaped heads, fixed on its torsos are presented. The transducers have almost twice the dimensions reduced in the direction of radiation (reception) of sound waves compared to traditional rod transducers and are convenient for arrangement in antenna arrays. Rod transducers with wedge-shaped heads are effective both in the radiation and reception modes. A comparison is made between transducers having different shapes of the radiating (receiving) surface in terms of configuration. The possibility of scanning the directivity characteristics for antennas made up of transducers with wedge-shaped heads in two mutually perpendicular planes is shown.
