ATMOSPHERIC AIR POLLUTION MODELING BY INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES IN THE TECHNOLOGY OF GEOINFORMATION SYSTEMS
The work is devoted to the creation of a GIS-based system for assessing and modeling atmospheric air pollution by industrial facilities to ensure environmental safety and prevent possible emergencies. The analysis of regulatory documented methods for calculating pollutants emissions dispersion in the air is considered. As a basis for solving the problem of modeling atmospheric air pollution from a single source, the methodological recommendations «Methods for calculating the dispersion of emissions of harmful (polluting) substances in the atmospheric air» were used. A point source pollutant concentration field computing algorithm with subsequent visualization is developed. On the basis of the developed algorithm, the total field pollutants concentration from multiple sources calculating approach is built. ArcGIS for Desktop is used for simulation results visualization. The software implementation of the developed algorithm is made using Python. The created system can be used both for assessing the level of air pollution by existing industrial facilities and for designing new production facilities.
