RESEARCH OF CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLASMA CATHODE BOUNDED BY A CONDUCTIVE WALL

Characteristics of the plasma cathode by means of the mathematical model considering recombination of the charged particles on walls, secondary ion-impact emission of walls and plasma, ionization processes near the emitting cathode surface, directly in the emissive channel of rather big expansion are considered. The range of pressure, in the lower part characteristic for sources of electrons and in the upper part – for the gas-discharge switching instruments like thyratrons and pseudo-spark dischargers is considered. Conditions of origin of electrical breakdown of the accelerating (anode) interval and origin of independent discharge in the most emissive channel are analyzed.
