Abstract: article is devoted to the history of the transaction cost theory and its importance as a basic tool for analyzing institutions of public-private partnership. Consistently examines the economic outlook J. Commons, Coase and O. Williamson, reveals features of the development and application of transaction cost theory to the analysis of the most common forms of public-private partnership – the concession.
