A SORTING ALGORITHM FOR LIDAR RETURNS
In this paper a simple algorithm for automated preliminary assessment of lidar signal informativeness based on the approximation of lidar data by a sum of Gaussian functions is considered. The algorithm allows distinguishing between noise, undistorted signal and signal distorted by limited dynamic range of lidar system’s reception tract.
