Review of methods for assessing the technical condition of the electrical insulation stator windings of air-cooled turbogenerators in operation

The paper considers the main factors that can lead to changes in the technical characteristics of the electrical insulation of stators of high-voltage air-cooled turbogenerators during operation, presents the results of an analysis of diagnostic test methods to assess the current technical condition of electrical insulation and suggestions for the possibility of predicting the remaining service life. The most important of the results obtained are the identified technical solutions for diagnostic methods and criteria for assessing the current technical condition of the electrical insulation of stator windings of high-voltage turbogenerators in long-term operation and the developed proposals for the practical use of evaluation methods for newly supplied and operated equipment.
