Investigation of the principles of operation of an isolated driver

This paper studies the operational principles of isolated drivers of power transistors with the purpose of developing recommendations for the construction of protection systems. To this end, driver models were developed in the LTspice circuit simulator software. The models were different in term of galvanic isolation implementation, i.e., using either a transformer or an optocoupler. In the second half of the article, the work of a protection system aimed at restricting the limiting modes of operation of semiconductor key crystals is considered.
