DESIGN OF A BOOST DC CONVERTER FOR MPPT SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER

In the presented article, a step-up converter with pulse-width modulation (PWM) with two capacitors was mathematically modeled and designed (unlike most converters found in the literature), which allows using the maximum power point tracking control (MPPT) to determine the maximum power of a photovoltaic panel in any moment of time. The basic parameters of the converter were calculated, such as the duty cycle, inductance value, maximum current, capacitance values of the input and output capacitors, and a diode and a MOS transistor were chosen for it, representing a contribution to the better design of the boost converter. The designed converter was tested on the SP75 solar panel, the results of the simulation carried out with the PSIM software package made it possible to optimize the production of the solar module and find out the fact that it can operate at its maximum power point if it is connected to a converter that is constantly looking for maximum power
