A BRIEF HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR THE DESIGN OF TURBINE GENERATORS

The design of a turbine generator (TG) is a rather complicated task in the engineering sense, during the solution of which answers should be given to a number of questions of different physical content: electromagnetic calculation, selection of active ones. structural and electrical insulating materials TG, mechanical calculation and design of the TG, its thermal cal-culation. Only a successful solution to all of the above diverse tasks will be able to provide high technical and economic indicators of these electric machines, their reliability throughout the entire service life and durability. Operation of such giants of the domestic power industry as ours. and abroad has confirmed their high and effective performance. Figuratively speaking, we can say that at one time TGs were created, some of which deserve to be called scientific and technical she-devras, worthy of their display at exhibitions and in museums around the world.
