INFLUENCE OF AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF SILICOMOLYBDENUM HETEROPOLYANION ON THE BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF PARAMECIUM CAUDATUM INFUSORIANS
The biological activity of aqueous solutions of silica-molybdenum heteropolyanion, which is an individual substance, has been studied with respect to laboratory-pure cultures of Paramecium caudatum infusorians. The method of investigation is based on the chemotactic reaction of infusorians. The results proving the high toxicity of silica-molybdenum heteropolyanion are presented. It is shown that under general suppression of the biological activity of ciliates by aqueous silicomolybdic heteropolyanion there has been found a concentration range of existence of lacunary heteropolyanions and paramolybdate ions, wherein ciliates tend to move to the sample solution more actively as compared to the control solution. The conducted studies prove that the bio-testing method can be applied to individual chemical compounds, and confirm the provision of the theory of chemical structure that the properties of substances, including bioactive ones, depend on the order of combination of atoms in molecules.
