PULSE WAVE PARAMETERS CALCULATION ALGORITHM BASED ON COMBAINED ANALYSIS OF PHOTOPLETHYSMOGRAM AND ECG

An algorithm of detecting and extracting an informative pulse wave of a photoplethysmogram record based on correlation analysis and synchronous averaging method is represented in this paper. The data used for developing the algorithm was obtained by CardioQvark device – a portable cardiac monitor based on smartphone that provides synchronous recording of ECG and PPG. The algorithm was developed using 23 synchronous couples of records. Reference models of PPG signal pulse waves was created and used to detect and extract informative signal fragments of noised record. Noise robustness analysis was conducted for the algorithm using calculation of five detected geometric features locations of every informative pulse wave for the given set of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values. As a result, dependencies of measured feature locations MSE on noise level were obtained. It showed stability of the developed algorithm for SNR > 10.
