LINGUISTIC SEMIOTICS OF THE SUBLIME IN ENGLISH FOLK TALE DISCOURSE

The category of the sublime in English folk tale discourse represents the process of retaking freedom from nature by a human. It seems an open confrontation between a folk tale heroic figure and a giant or a dragon/worm based upon social factors. The main point of the sublime is manifested by a set of verbal and non-verbal (naturmorphic, artifact, military, somatic, mortal, esoteric and other codes) signs.
